An amateur illustrator who works in a library, Yang Ye is an avid reader of the Republican-era wuxia epic The Legend of the Swordsmen of the Mountains of Shu (Shushan Jianxia Zhuan). In this publication, he distills the adventures of one of the novel's heroines, Li Yingqiong, into a richly illustrated visual narrative.
The accompanying seven-character rhyming verses are Yang Ye's own retelling of the novel's story, adapted from the original text.
The book contains approximately 18 illustrations, each accompanied by a brief synopsis in Chinese and an English translation.
The publication is available in two binding editions: "Secret Manual Scroll" and "Jade Tablet Book."
